Question SLP MK1 22" Barrel Capacity Issue?

I just bought my SLP MK1 used. Very lightly used. I can only get seven 2.75" shells into the magazine. I've tried Winchester Military Buck and S&B Buck. I can nearly squeeze eight in with the win Buck. But the eighth on the S&B sticks out from the magazine by atlease half an inch. I have no idea what's up. Anyone have tips or insight. I took the shotgun mag spring out. No obstructions that are obvious.

I believe I recall some info I heard a while back that there were certain shotshell manufacturers that made slightly longer than 2.75" shells and they would not work in some auto shotguns like the Saiga. S&B may be one of them. Put one side by side with the Winchesters and see if there is a slight difference or use a caliper. A 1/16 of an inch longer per shell would about add up to the nearly 1/2 inch you say is left sticking out of the magazine and wouldn't be immediately noticeable unless you are looking for it.

I have an 18" SLP and when I use Rio or NobleSport shot shells because of the crimp, I can only load 5 of 2 3/4" shells. Using 2 3/4" shells from Federal, Remington, or Hornady I load a full magazine of 6 shells.

Have you disassembled the magazine to check for obstruction/problems? That's where I'd start looking.
