Ditto. BS waiting forever for the P-10C. Liking both the APX and 509.

I actually saw a TV commercial for the 509 last night. FN is hitting the ground running on this one.

I may have missed the info but is the slide and barrel melonite treated or is it PVD coated like the FNS pistols ?

    Good question. Nitriding or what?

Ok, so I couldn't find this info either so I just called the FN tech. He stated that the barrel and slide both have a Ferritic nitrocarburizing treatment (nitriding).

Have you seen that bloated SIG mess they adopted? That's what happens when you try to make a handgun "modular" and when it's all said and done you could have a whole additional pistol for very little upcharge over the cost of a modular conversion kit.

The only "modular" handgun that actually delivered any real advantage over just purchasing an additional handgun when you need a different configuration were the single shot Contender hunting pistols with the STI and SVI with interchangeable grip frames running a close second.

Meanwhile for the cost of a SIG modular conversion kit you can buy a whole Glock handgun at bulk governmental pricing and Glocks are proven to be the most durable trouble free autos on the planet despite their horrid triggers, grips, etc.
