    FN 509 Sights FYI

I just spoke to a David at FN Customer Service the sights used on the 509 are fashioned after Sig #8 Front and Rear, they are POA/POI at 15yds with 124+p. Trijicon makes plenty of sights for Sig too however Sig makes what I personally believe are the best nights sights currently available the X-RAY3.

You're welcome, there's something about luminous paint on the sights of a combat pistol that just pisses me off....

Here are part numbers for Trijicon and Sig Sauer sights. These are the Sig #8 front and rear which the 509 was designed to use.

    Trijicon HD

    Orange: SG101O
    Yellow: SG101Y

Trijicon HD XR, these have a narrower front sight post allowing for more precision shots at a greater distance

    Orange: SG601-C-600865
    Yellow: SG601-C-600866

    Sig Sauer X-RAY3

    Square Notch: SOX10003
    Round "U" Notch: SOX10004

    thanks for the information

i just received my 509 yesterday and wow their sights are tall -
i don't know how tall a #8 Sig front sight is - but it'd better be tall 😱😱

The height of the new front sight is irrelevent to the old sights unless you are retaining the old rear sight.

You're correct - but I only wanted to change the front sight & black out the rear.

    any suggestions?

Good info, I just spoke with my LE rep and he said late June for FN to release the night sight version, so I may just pull the X ray sights off my Legion for this gun and get tall sights for it since I run it suppressed.

Well an update, installed the #8 "Xray" sights off my P226 Legion, they fit right on! Shorter than factory sights but probably not a bad thing anyway. I will get to the range this week and see if it shifted the POI.
