FN 509 slide material stainless steel or not

I just ordered my FN 509.

    i should receive it Thursday.

i can't find out anywhere on the FN website where it says whether the slide is stainless steel or not.

    Does anyone know?

    I called FN Tech support
They had not been asked this question, so they asked for my email address

    Just got this

"Don, thank you for contacting FN America. The 509 slide is stainless steel and nitrocarbrizing process.
    Best regards"

I'm impressed with their follow through

But I'm not sure I understand the answer???

    Any metallurgist out there

    I'd read that

but from that I would guess - stainless slide nitrocarbonized finish on the slide ??

The nitrocarburizing process increases the wear properties.

I got a 509 last week and as my first striker 9mm I really like it. Have only been to the range twice though.

Stainless steel slide then the metal gets a nitrocarburizing treatment. Same thing as nitriding. Same metal treatment like Glock, XD, Walther, Steyr, etc. etc. Very good.
