I am working on an adapter that will allow you to bolt on any AR style pistol grip and stock to the FNAR. I think it will end up costing me about 500 to make the first one but I think I will be able to reproduce them for about 150. Anyone interested? I would like to recoup my investment and need to mark them. If you are interested let me know, I think a folding stock FNAR will be the s___! Depending on how many takers I have I think I could sell it for as little as 175. Mesa Tactical makes something similar for shotguns, I called them but the are not interested in making a FNAR adapter. I plan on using an ACE folding stock hinge.
Sounds very interesting, but what would that do to the warranty? From what I've read regarding FN's stance on muzzle brakes, I would assume this would negate the warranty on the gun?
Just asking. Sounds like a good idea, and is something I might be interested in depending on the answer to the warranty question.

It amazes me the obsession with warranty among FNAR owners. I think that I have a single pistol (from over 10 guns) that would still be "under warranty". Gunsmithing and mods go hand in hand with gun ownership. Get a cool gun. Put a sweet trigger on it, change the stock, the grip...make it yours.Originally Posted by MaxxII
Maybe since it's pretty new and there aren't a ton of mods out there FNAR owners keep the gun stock?
I have two AR15s I've modded to better suit my needs. I have zero issues with someone changing their gun around to make them happier with it.
However, there are tons of AR manufacturers and as of now, only FN and Winchester make the FNAR.
I just got my rifle from my father, who had not shot it very much. IIRC less than 50 rounds. I havent shot it at all. Until I do that, and decide whether or not I want to keep it or trade it for some sort of AR10 varient, I'm not going to void the warranty of the only people who make parts for it.
Just my view point.

FN is the parent company and the gun is just marked 'Winchester'.Originally Posted by MaxxII

Yeah, I know.
But if I'd said that FN was the only one who made the gun, someone else would brought up the SX-AR...
Cant win for losing...

Yeah, that makes sense. That's the one thing about gunsmithing...you never get it back at resale.Originally Posted by MaxxII
I plan to make it a direct bolt on, so you would just remove your old stock and keep it. The adapter would allow you to bolt on any AR style grip and stock. If I had an issue with the gun I would just slap on the original stock.
Nice! Now I'm definately interested.
Especially if its a bolt on...
