They are $1400 at Buds. That's what I paid for mine two years ago. Where are you finding them cheaper?

You see in this world there's two kinds of people my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig?

I've seen the 20" heavy barrel selling for $1000 in several places lately. MHO... the heavy barrel rifles aren't as popular as the light barrel and dealers are trying to clear out slow sellers. If they ain't moving it's costing them money so they reduce the price so the money can be invested in faster moving money making stock. I gave $1000 cash for mine with 1 five round and 3 twenty round mags from an indvidual a year ago so I'm still ahead.

The price may go down in the short term but I think it'll rise over the long haul, and if it doesn't I bought it to shoot gnats at 300 yards and pass down to my son so I'm happy regardless.

I love mine, took two 7 point deer with it this year. I bought mine used for $1025. What do you suspect dealer price is on them?

    Maybe, maybe not..

I don't know... but I did a fair amount of research and I also have a fair amount of experience with various weapons over the years and I chose the FNAR (New owner and new to the forum by the way). I was down to a few choices and went with this. It is fairly light, accurate, multi-purpose,and of course .308. I recently bought 2 and I am very happy with them. People complain about the tear-down and cleaning, but due to its design it is one of the cleanest firing weapons I have ever experienced.
It appears most are put off by the disassembly and cleaning, but I guess they have never broke down a SAW, 240, M60 or .50 Cal in in the field or in combat.
I think the problem is that most people are going to spend the money for the SCAR if they are going to spend it.. either way I am happy with the FNAR and that's what it is about.

    Welcome to the forums.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

I saw it, read the specs and thought $1400 (what I paid for mine) was a heck of a deal! How much would you pay similar equipped, piston driven, MOA, AR NIB?
I love that I can get MOA (if I do my part) or when feeling froggy, lay down some serious firepower. With no jams!
+1 on the cleaning part. Of course most people are comparing to a AR and the break down design. But if the weapon is not injecting hot carbon fouling into the receiver in the first place, that much less to clean! The gas plug takes the longest, and I can clean it in about 10 mins with a copper brush. 5min if I am rushing.
Some think the FNAR is ugly. Beauty in the eye and all that. I think the M16/M4/AR looks (and feels) like a cheap toy.
Personally, I think FN saw people wanting a MOA auto-loader at a medium/competitive price to a similar equipped AR, for 3-gun and the FNAR was born. I think they did a dang good job.

It's definitly a great gun. I'm just watching the interest in it go down along with its value. Drives me nuts.
    Get ready!

New models come out....yesterday's models loose the newness they once commanded. That being said, if it is a quality firearm, it will perform just as good in 15 years as it does today. Wait 30 years and see what kind of price it fetches....you might be surprised.
