    New FNAR

My shop has had 2 on the shelf for some time now and I've been eying them for months so last Thursday I stopped eying them and bought one. So far I love it. I own or have owned a wide variety of 308's and this one is sweet.

Only thing concerning me is breakdown which my buddy at the shop warned me about but I had to have this rifle. I'm good mechanically in most cases but I hear these can be an SOB to get back together. Is my concern justified or not?

Here she is with a Redfield Revolution 4x12x40 scope. Target was shot at 100 yards..

    Welcome to FNForum.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

Nice pick up man, good shooting. Havent broken mine down yet, and wont until it shows signs of needing it, which i suspect is going to be alteast 500+ rounds being a piston rifle.

    Thanks swine.

I wanna know this gun, as I do all my guns, inside out right from the get go. I don't wanna be trouble shooting or caught with my pants at my knees at a time of need.

Just got through breaking mine down and cleaning it and it went better than I expected. It had about 400rnds through it and the piston, gas block and all the parts close to the reaction block/gas block where very dirty. The inside of the receiver was pretty dirty too but all in all it went very well. Glad to have this behind me and next time it will be even easier..

    Hi first post!
I just brought mine new FNAR home and the first thing I did was completely disassemble it. I used the video on youtube, it was a lot of help. After putting it back together, I actually thought it was easier then what I expected. Wouldn't want to do it in the field, but on my kitchen table it was easy. And since I have done it, if I had to do it somewhere else I could. I guess thats my old USMC training!

Now just waiting on my scope to get here. I got a Millett DMS. (1X4X25) I have a great bolt action for long range, and I thought this would be great for close to mid range shooting.

    Anyway, glad to be here!
