New scope for my FNAR (update)

I was using a Redfield 4x12x40mm scope and decided I wanted something a little more tactical looking. I got this Millett at my local shop for a great price and decided to do it. I hope to be able to make it to the club tomorrow afternoon and dial it in. Also grabbed 2 mags for $55 each, not cheap but very well made mags..

UPDATE: I traded the Millett for a Leupold VX-7 2.5-10x45mm, pic below..

Sorry to see you got the DMS-1. Had one on an AR-15....it was the first optic I put on an AR. A couple of hard bumps during a training course and the reticle would no longer illuminate. I guess it didn't matter much....couldn't see it in the daytime anyway.

The Chinese glass is very low quality. Mine had noticeable distortion around the outer edge. And what I hated the most, it weighed a ton and was as big as a tank for just a 1-4x scope. I replaced it with an 3.5x ACOG and don't regret spending the $$ for a minute.

I hope you have better luck with yours than I did with mine.

Wow, not was I expecting to hear. I'll see how it goes and beat her up good in the next couple days and if I have issues the shop I deal with is very good to me..

    Thanks for the heads up.

Traded the Milett in for Leupold VX-7 2.5-10x45mm and it has some real nice glass. The Millett's eye relief was terrible and glass wasn't very clear.

$200 Chinese glass.....glad to hear you upgraded. I'm sure you will enjoy it more.

Never looked through a DMS, but I have a TRS-1 on my 17 HMR Savage. There is slight distortion around the edge (not bad), but otherwise it is comparable to my buddies Nikon Monarch (both 4-16). Glass is clear and bright and $200 cheaper than my buddies scope.

I think you did make a good choice moving to the Leupold. Better magnification for the FNAR.

    Thanks guys.

Had it out today for a couple hours and the scope is excellent, don't think I'll be looking to replace this one anytime soon. Got some nice groups with PPU soft point and I had 100rnds of Brazilian 7.62 that grouped good too. Now I just have to figure out what to start stocking up on. I'm already stocking the PPU for soft point just need to figure which FMJ round to go with..
