+1 for the pics. Thanks Clyde.
Oh, a technical error [and we all make them from time to time] is the length is called out in cm not mm. Although that rule is clearly marked in 'mm' . Not your fault.![]()
Any opportunity to get pics of the fire control groups side by side yet?
Thanks again for taking time to post-up.![]()

The big numbers showing are obviously cm. And I mean, come on, give him some slack, at least the ruler is made in the USA![]()

Nah.
Is there a screw in the deflector of the 17s but not the 16s? (I can't tell on the 16).

You're so right, Sarge -- it is centimeters, not millimeters -- I should know, since 2.54 cm = one inch, but the ruler did throw me off, in all honesty.![]()
I was always much better at English than math anyway.![]()
Pics of fire control group, recoil springs, and bolt carriers in SCAR 17 subforum.
Dan, two screws hold the shell deflectors secured to the upper on each....
Ah, I see it now. It's just that on the 17 it has to go through the deflector right?

Well, the torx wrench handle does. They both attach the same way, wrapped around the ejection port aluminum and screwed into place, except the 17S deflector/folding stock latch is much thicker, so it blocks the second screw....
No, they just put a port through the deflector so as to allow the wrench access to the cap screw. Kinda like a keyhole (in a door, not the spy satellite).Originally Posted by djv38
