Gotta tell ya though - that has to impact silencer efficiency to some extent. No? I figure, if you keep the heat in with a sock, you ain't cooling the gas, thus not slowing it down.
A better solution would be a true heat shield (CF) with clamps ons (Checkers)
Now .. here's a patent I've been waiting on all my life!

Carbon fiber tube over the can. Like motorcycle mufflers that are made with carbon fiber.
