Post your questions for FN here - Limited to the first 10. I am extending the time for them to be answered to next week, because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Each person can ask 1 question.
Once again, thanks to FNMan for taking the time to answer member's questions. That is very nice of him!
NOTE: ANSWERED on 11-25-07
1. When will we get more variations of factory 5.7x28mm ammo (besides 195 and 197)? There will be a new round called SS198 but it will be a LE restricted round. The 195 and 197 go forward for now.
2. Will official (CIP, SAAMI, FN internal) cartridge dimensions and other specifications eventually be included in the FNH USA website content for the 5.7x28mm? Not at this time.
3. There have been a handful of reports of PS90 barrels supposedly damaged from the higher pressures of the 195 round. Did extending the barrel on the PS90 to 16 inches have any unanticipated consequences over the original P90 design? Not true. If that was true the shorter P-90 barrel would have problems. I have seen P-90 barrels with 35,000+ rounds through them. The SS195 is not full pressure.
4. The PS90 manual states that the moving parts group should be oiled at the guide rods, ejector, extractor and "holes of the breech block". Which holes are they referring to? The side holes are the right hole that goes to the guide rod and the other side which houses the cyclical reducer or tungsten weight.
5. The PS90 Owners Manual states that the PS90 has an internal safety sear to prevent accidental firing if the gun is dropped. Since the this forward safety sear has been removed from the hammer group, has FNH done extensive tests to ensure there is no chance of an out of battery detonation? It is a gravity activated sear which activates when the gun is dropped on the muzzle. I am sure the fire control was tested and qualified before production started as on all FNH firearms.
6. Has the FNP 45 release date been pushed back? We should see .45's any time. There was a slight hitch in getting the extractors done.
7. Will the USG FNPs be available in both 9mm and .40 S&W? And will they be available with night sights? Both are available now. No plans for night sight versions.
8. Photos of the FNP45 show a lanyard loop. Will this be on the production pistol, and will it end up on the 9mm's and 40's as well? It will only be on the USG version. The loop will exist on all but only the USG will come with a split ring.
9. When is the FNP-357 Sig going to be available for purchase? Will they be released in dark earth color? 1st quarter 2008. They will not be available in dark earth at this time.
10. Will the FNP 357 be available in DA/SA with a decocker only?Yes, only DA/SA at this time.
Thanks for the questions!

The PS90 manual states that the moving parts group should be oiled at the guide rods, ejector, extractor and "holes of the breech block". Which holes are they referring to?
As stated on page 16 of the PS90 Owners Manual
"The PS90 Carbine has however also been provided with an internal safety sear which ensures that, during the forward movement of the moving parts, the hammer is blocked until the breech block has reached its most forward position :this avoids any risk of accidental firing when the carbine is (involuntarily) dropped."
Since FNH is no longer adding this forward safety sear to the hammer group, have they done extensive tests to make sure that there is no chance of an out of battery detonation?
Has the FNP 45 release date been pushed back?
(I am asking because I see this topic coming up on all sorts of gun forums)
My Question's are regarding the USG version of the FNP models currently available.
Will the USG be available in both 9mm and .40 S&W? And will they be available with night sights?
The current photo's of the FNP45 shows it has a lanyard loop. Will this be on the production pistol and is there a chance we may see it on the 9mm's and 40's as well?
Thank you, that is all for now.![]()
