The stock has grown on me, although I wonder how sturdy it is folded and the like (haven't handled one and have only heard one or two first hand accounts-I actually prefer the gen I SCAR stock). As for the reciprocating bolt handle, I figure it requires less parts, which means fewer parts to jam, break or lose, or just plain makes it simpler.Originally Posted by Thermallator

If the Obama Administration stays away from their gun bans. I would like to get a scar next year. I wold not pay 3k for one though. I will keep my fingers crossed and have my senators number close by.
OK, how much do we have to spend to get a good quality, reliable firearm? I’m not cheap, I spend top dollar for the best out there, but more money does not always equal performance. I switched to piston POF’s because I shoot allot and don’t like to be cleaning my guns all day, was upset to drop more $$$ for those but they want as much now for a Noveske or LMT gas AR as what I paid for my POF’s.
Then I got my FS2000 and was pissed about spending more on that then I did on my AR’s. SIG 556…more, I’m looking and these SCAR’s are going for up to $6,000 on some places? WHY?! Have not handled one in person but looking at the photos I can see things I personally do not like. BTW, I’m not sticking a $100 Tasco red dot on this thing so there goes another $1,000+ for Trijicon or 1,500+ for a Specter DR. Take all the speculation, paranoia and panic buyers and fast money Eddie gun dealers out of the equation so we get back to decent gun prices. If I pay $3000+ for any gun I want spare parts available, I want multi caliber conversion kits available, I want fast top shelf service from the factory if anything goes down on it there should be dudes in white lab coats running to my house to fix it. I’m sure it’s a great gun, and God bless FN for making innovative weapons for the civilian market in this day and age but come on guys at the end of the day it’s a .223Rem going down range… we should be able to do that for under $3000 reliably (That’s with a worthy scope) I just got acclimated to paying $2000 for a good rifle, now $6,000? At this rate we’ll be paying $12,000 next year! Going “Bang” every time you pull the trigger should be the standard, not an option you have to pay extra for.
