Found A Good Holsters for FNP-40

I am the proud new owner of a Brand New FNP-40 SS Slide that I just picked up at a gun show. I traded my Taurus Millennium 111 Pro 9mm for it.

It is pretty obvious that getting a good Holster for the gun is a problem. I do not like the Nylon Holsters, there are plenty available that fit this model, and by the looks of it, lots of other people are also searching. Well, here is some hope for all willing to experiment.

With some adjustments to the retention screw, The Fobus SP-11B Paddle Holster Fits almost perfect. The FNP-40 snaps nicely into place, but has a little front to back movement, not really a problem. I contacted Fobus to see if they had an exact fit for the FNP, they said they did not make it.

Next, I went to a Pro Bass shop and tried at least 20 different Holsters for a good fitting replacement of my Pro111 Paddle. I found a Fobus Holster for a 1911-45 that also fits almost perfect, however not worth replacing the Fobus SP-11B for, the gun fits a tiny bit looser in that one, but the retention is not as good.

Next I found the Bianchi Carrylok Size 11, (Part#2250) Model 82, made for a Glock19. After trying about 7 different ones of the same model, I found one that fitted ..PERFECT! Most others were more tight, but would have stretched with a little time. I love this holster, and it also made the Gun ride a little higher on the body. The “AUTO RETENTION LOCK” works perfect.

I thought this might help some people in their quest to find a good Holster.

I have a Browning Pro 40 which is identical to the FNP-40. I use a Don Hume IWB for H&K USP compact. (H715 M TB NO. 25USP-C) I have carried this holster daily for over 3 years now.

Wow! ...a lot of good research Dutchboy! Thanks for the info. I'm using a Blackhawk Serpa for a Springfield XD for my FNP-9.

Has anyone found a good duty holster besides the Safariland 6280? The push button-swivel strap thingy is getting a little annoying. If my thumb was a half inch longer I don't think I'd have an issue.

the blackhawk sig pro 2022 holsters work perfect for the fnp-9 and most likely for fnp-40. The trick is, you have to try the holster for the gun before you buy it at the store. One of my local gun shops had 3 SigPro2022 holsters and two of them were a bit tight. Grabbed the third one, slid it in, and a smooth insert with a nice click at the end. Sure beats the bladetec holster.

I found a local holster maker that does hand made leather for the FNP9/40. Placed my order a few weeks ago and it come in today. PM me if you want his contact info.

My old Blackhawk Serpa holster for my G30 fits the FNP-40 great. I also have a a Armadillo shoulder holster for my G21, that also fits the FNP-40. Galco pleather paddle holster for my G21 also fits my FNP-40 like a glove.
