    Puppy Name?

So, I'm getting married in May and a friend is giving us a mini dachshund as a gift...a little smooth coat, black & tan male. I'm pondering names at the moment. The proposed theme is German sounding...he is after all..of sorts. And yes, guns! The most obvious are Luger, Ruger, Mauser. Suggestions?

I have to throw this little story in this thread. I watched an old WW II movie once. The American's captured a German Shepard from the German Army. The American's named the dog Traitor. Ahahahaha As far as names for your new dog goes, I like Bratwurst...call him brott for short...Now that's a suitable name for a dachshund ! If you're looking for a name with a little more machismo, perhaps Tiger, or Panzer. But Brott wins the title for me ha ! Good luck making this most difficult decision ! We had a black and tan dachshund growing up...we named him Mike lol....We were young...For God sakes man, put more effort into his name than we did lol. Let us know what you decide. : ) P/S. We got Mike as a full grown stray when I was like 5 yrs old. That dog lived until I was like 23 or something. He never had any health issues and died of old age. We also had a German Shepard named King. They got along superb and both were good dogs.

Schnitzel...or Gewher or maybe combine them into Schnitzelgewher. Sure, it's not really a word, but it sounds authentic enough and would puzzle any actual Germans that may be in the vicinity when you call your dog.

Congrats on the wedding...and the pup.

I would let the soon to be " boss lady " pick the name ..... ! Well just from my experience .... it will help promote a shared ownership. Especially when you become the " COO of sanitation operations " or the " Manager janitorial engineering " .... The true impact of that position may take a decade to reveal itself.... however .... that would be my recommendation.
    Congratulations !

Congrats on the wedding and I'd go along with MJK1, a suggestion might not be too bad but whatever you do don't make the decision unless it's OK'd, good practice for the future
