    Glock 19 Gen 4 experiences?

Hi folks, I'm interested in hearing from owners of the Glock 19 Gen 4. How has your experience been and would you recommend it despite all the negative feedback that's out there?
    All reviews/experiences welcome.

    They suck, get an FNX.

JK, Glocks are fine, but the FNX is still better.

I hear the FNS is awesome too, and thats comming out soon. It's striker fired like the Glocks are.

Thanks, I have no doubt that both the FNX and FNS are awesome, but I'm specifically looking for answers from folks who own the G19 Gen 4 (or the G17 Gen 4).

I shot a loaner 19 Gen 4 - shot just like the Gen 3! It's a glock, it shoots, and it never malfunctioned for me (probably put ~200 rounds through one).

The different grip texturing is nice, as is the slimming of said grip. I know there are some mechanical differences (the spring, etc), but the largest difference I noticed was definitely the grip.

I also shot a 21 Gen 4 (.45) and loved the new grip on that deal. I owned a 21 Gen 3 but sold it because it felt like I was gripping a baseball bat. I now have a 21 Gen 4 in the mail to my FFL.

By the way, the best prices I could find on new Gen 4 Glocks were on CheaperThanDirt.com. I paid about $525 for mine, had to pay tax, and still got out cheaper than most of the other spots I checked. CTD is a good business too.

Hope this helps in some way!

I have a Gen4_G19 & used it for my USPSA gun in the Production class all of 2011. Approx 2500 rounds thru it and NEVER a HICCUP! The only change was to a KKM barrel, the rest was STOCK. It runs flawless over & over.

Thanks. What kind of ammo were you running, 115gr range ammo? Any brass to the face with the weak stuff?

Gen4 9mm guns have had teething problems, but I've not heard a single person report problems once they had their RSA and ejector fixed. Some people additionally have the extractor changed, though most extractor changes were done at the same time as the ejector so it's hard to isolate individual effects. The ejector change is the most noticable, since the shape is very different.

My 17 just came back from glock (~2 week turnaround) and they replaced only the ejector, extractor appears the same (though they didn't document their work exactly). I'd already replaced the RSA under recall going from 0-2-3 to 0-2-4.

Cool, I would love to hear a post ejector change range report. I understand the theory is that the shape of the original ejector combined with some frame flex caused erratic contact on the case head. Changing the ejector shape allowed better contact for consistent ejection.
