FWIW here's a size comparison between HK45's and P30's:
Maybe these can give you an idea of relative sizes...........dj

I bought a HK mark 23. haven't shot it yet. wasn't my first choice. went in for a nighthawk 1911 9MM and walked out with a 30,000 bill. couldn't decide on just one pistol and ended up buying several. definately an addictive hobby
I have an HK .45 USP Compact that I carry. You can barely notice it. It shoots nice compared to other handguns I've shot. The price tag is a bit of a turn off, but whatever! Have you considered a SIG 229 in .40? I think that will be my next purchase... or a FiveSeven. I can't make up my mind!

I have both the H&K USP 45 Tactical (full size), and the HK45 Compact Tactical. Both are very accurate and easy to maintain. The USP has a proprietary rail, but Insight makes a great light for it (M2). The compact is a wonderful gun to carry for its caliber.![]()

The FNX .45 will look identical to the FNP but will have an inferior trigger to the FNP and be striker fired. Options will include exterior safety or no safety at all. Meh.
Get the FNP .45 TAC and don't look back - I would not wait for the striker fired version if you want the best combat .45 available today. The striker is not an improvement and you will not be able to carry it locked and cocked.
The HK45 is not bad - it would be my second choice (almost got one). The reason it's second - another $300 for an extended threaded barrel, another $150 for tritium and no availability for Dr. Optic mount, only 2 mags, no case.
In other words, add another $700 to the 1K price tag to make it have the same features as the FNP, and you still only have 10 rounds and an inferior trigger. I did the math many times - just for you.
The P30 would be the last gun on earth I would buy (again). Why I bought it still escapes me. Temporary mental illness at Cowbellas. Reasons, lets see - the cool 'ERGONOMIC' inserts move around while you shoot which makes the gun feel like a wet Chinese noodle, it's average accurate - nothing special, the slide releases automagically (meaning against your will) when you slam in a full mag - sometimes causing a jam - and the worst yet - the trigger reset on single action is the same as the rest of the world on double action - meaning - you have to row through the gate like a monkey. Mine does NOT have the LEM trigger (which is even worse .. if that's even possible). Mine is the V3S version - external ambidextrous safety and slide release. Forget combat style crisp and clean double taps within 1/4 second 1/4 inch apart. Not unless your are Rob Letham and have 1 million dollars to spend on ammo. There's a budding internet economy dedicated to fixing these triggers at another $150 to $250. Nice looking gun - but pathetic.
As always - one mans opinion.

I have 2 HK P30's-one LEM vriant both of which are accuirate and comfortable to shoot, but just got Sig 239 which is a straight shooter and good size for concealed carry, but in 9 mm only holds 8 rounds in the magazine. My favoriate pistol is my FN 57 and would also make a good concealed choice, but some have concerns about "stopping power". Would certainly want you to try anything you're thinking about before you buy, since regardless of all the weapon reviews you read, you'll only know what feels best to you when hold it and shoot. You just need to decide chaliber and capacity you want.
I also bought the 57. really easy to shoot, hi cap mag. one of the best pistols I got. also bought a bunch of baby glocks but haven't shot them.
