    Kimber Pro Series BTF Issues

It's widely known that the 4" Kimber 1911s have a reputation for slinging brass at the shooter's grape. Has there ever been any identifiable fix for this issue?

All I can find on other weapons forums, are suggestions regarding tuning/reshaping the extractor/ejector, but the information regarding this is vague at best. Any detailed information would be greatly appreciated, as to what causes this condition and if a parts replacement would be preferable to reshaping.

I'm going to go clean the blood off my forehead.....

Unfortunately there is no easy solution to tweak or tune the stock parts - 1911s are tunable as long as you know what you are doing. I would take the pistol to a reputable 1911 gun smith.

Only other option I can suggest, if the cost of a gun smith is prohibitive, is replacing the extactor with a Wilson Combat part - it "should" be a drop - in part for Kimbers and SAs

Last option is to send it back for a warranty work

Kind of what I figured. I have some extra 1911 parts, and I'll be swapping out the extractor and ejector and see if it clears up the problem.
