I've been reloading for 20 years and never seen this before..
Trying my first round of 5.7 in a full length Hornady die the cartridges come out .010 longer than what they went in.
I set this die up as I do all other hornady dies and nothing seems to matter. seems to be more of an issue with the
mouth expander.. It's also putting a buldge just above where the neck starts.. I have seen it actually break the neck off.
yes cartridges were lubed inside and out.. using a #45 rcbs shell holder in an rcbs gen 2 rock chucker press.
Very bizarre.. Called Hornady and they said send it back so I did today.
Anyone else had problems with Hornady 5.7 dies?
thanks
Gary
You might want to ask and post in the 5.7 ammo section of the forum which also covers the reloading of the round.
5.7x28mm Ammunition
I have a set of the Hornady Custome Grade New Demension dies and have no problem with them. I have not read of any problems with these partiucular dies.
Hornady will make it right. As far as the length is concerned, the shoulder on this case has a tremendous amount of movement and has to be pushed back considerably. Is this your once fired or from somebody else or range pickups?
A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.
