As always use at your own risk. Data given is less than Lyman's MAX pressure listed in 49th edition.
AWESOME RESULTS AT 200 YARDS! This past weekend I had a chance to work up loads from 40gr to 45gr in 0.5gr increments using IMR 4895 and 150gr FMJBT.
For all loads I used the same brass, trim, col, bullet, and primer.
150gr Hornady FMJBT
Lake City once fired - thoroughly cleaned and primer pockets cleaned
Trimmed cases to EXACTLY 2.010" on all cases.
COL EXACTLY 2.800" on all loads
5 rounds where shot at each of the grain increments and groupings compared.
44.5gr IMR 4895 is the WINNER in my 17S!
44gr and 45gr were less accurate than 44.5gr.
The following 5 shot grouping were made from 200 yards using a Scar 17S with Leupold Mark 6 1-6x20mm Illuminated CMR-W 7.62 Reticle and LaRue Tactical OBR QD Scope Mount LT111. I also have a Timney trigger in the 17S.
If any of you are wondering about the target, it's my HOME MADE shoot and see - it's really simple to create one of these.
Buy any neon poster board, cover one side using cheap CLEAR packing tape (I bought both poster and tape from the dollar store), spay paint black the tapped side and your done!
I hope this info is useful for some of you.
