Took this 9pt White tail this year

Not with an FN, but my Browning BLR in .358 Win. I've hunted with this rifle since the 80's but ammo for it has become scarce so I made hand loads for it for the fist time this year. The Barnes 180g TTSX did the trick

Great pic. Thanks for sharing it. I love the fact you've been hunting with that rifle since the 80's. Its in great condition. There must be a great sentimental attachment to that rifle. It has hand it down to a son or family member written all over it. I bet that pic, that deer, and that rifle is well worthy of a front page on a magazine, and a huge article of it's history of game taken, and how you obtained it. The stories you could tell around a camp fire in it's regards would be amazing. Congrats on that fine deer.

Nice trophy buck! And Canyon Man is right. That pic is worthy of a hunting mag cover.

Love the Barnes bullets. I use the 180 TSX in my 308 and 300 Win and they work great. I recommend them to anyone. Only downside is they are expensive if you buy factory ammo.

That rifle does have a lot of stories. I have lost count of how many deer I've killed with it. It was my plan this season to hand it down to my 13 year son. The loads I developed were reduced loads for him. 180g is a light bullet for the .358 as most load 200-250g pills. Those stout loads in that light BLR really kick the snot out of you. So, as was the plan, he hunted with it this year but didn't take any deer with it. I ended up taking it on a hunting trip to West Texas as a back up to my .30-06. One morning I decided to use it as the feeder was only 100 yards from the stand. The rest of the story is in the picture I posted, in the freezer and at the taxidermist.
