    REM T3 After Field Tests

I received my T3 in January of 2009, it is now August 2009 and I feel I have enough experience with the product to give an honest review.

I installed the REM T3 in an old PS90 that I purposely abuse and expose to harsh elements. The setup has been knocking around in the back of a truck with a bunch of tools and the REM is no worse for wear. (Neither is the PS90, though at some point the prism in the ring sight came slightly misaligned, causing a slight optical aberration of little practical consequence).

At temperatures approaching and below zero degrees Fahrenheit the L.E.D. tends to pulse. Not a huge problem because the sight remains bright enough to be useful even in a sunny, snowy landscape.

The battery cap can be overtightened allowing the O-Ring to get squished out of place. But this is simple enough to avoid, and the REM T3 did not suffer when I exposed it to very heavy and prolonged rainfall, on three separate occasions this spring and summer. I expect it would endure a short dunk in shallow water.

The factory ring sight isn't the clearest optic, but it is certainly the lightest and most compact option for the PS90 USG. I wouldn't recommend the factory ring sight unless used in conjunction with the REM T3. With the REM T3 you have a very rugged, practical, and economical optic that really works in all lighting conditions.

I'm very happy with the quality and design, so much so that I won't be putting the top rail and Eotech back on that PS90. I love the slim profile the REM T3 allows.

The only improvement I can think of would be a way to lock the rheostat in the off position.

    Thanks for the great product!

The REM T3b for the "black ring sight" is now here. Now you can upgrade the USSS sight for all light/background conditions.

That is due to the battery voltage dropping from the temperature. Most batteries will due that.

Great field test write up on a great product!
