Just bought a PS90 USG

Hey M1P90,

Question for you, is the difference between the REM T3 and the REM T3B the location where the LED is installed onto the USG sight. (B standing for Bottom?)


If so with the B I noticed that you have to modify the USG sight to expose the tritium from the bottom. If you go with the standard T3 does the USG sight need to be altered in the same way?? or is the tritium on the top exposed already?

(sorry I have owned every PS90 but a USG and to this day still have not seen a USG in person!) My FFL gets it in by the end of the week...

The Standard Ring Sight (White Ring Sight) has the Tritium already exposed So the REM T3 has an LED housing that fits snuggly in the Light collection well. It snaps in and out. No need for any alterations to the Ring Sight.

The USG or USSS Ring Sight (Black Ring Sight) has the tritium encased in rubber so the REM T3b has to be premenantly attached to the underside of the Ring Sight. The procedure takes about 30 minutes. A 3mm hole needs to be drilled to expose the tritium and you place the LED in that hole and cover it with black epoxy.

Thanks for the clarification, I may have to give this a shot.

Mine is the black ring site so is on the bottom, I finally got it from my FFL and was able to disassemble it and look at how it works. After almost 4 years of owning a PS90 this was my first experience with the USG sight, and I have to admit it is just as awful as I had heard!!!

The T3b looks like it would be a great addition, I am thinking that I may buy a red one, but am not sure yet. I will let you know.

Question for ya, I think I want to have a Rem T3 installed and what I wanted to ask you was if you had your choice between the black sight and the white sight, which would you put a Rem T3 on? (if you could only choose one)

Does it work better on the black since it is under?

I would suggest getting the Black Ring Sight rather than the White. The Black cross hairs are easier to see then the White ghost rings. The Black sight is made out of metal instead of plastic like the white. The REM T3 illuminates both sights equally but again the Black sight by itself is supeior to the White.
