Thanks for looking.
The PS90 hammer pack contains a barrel end drop protection device, but does not have buttstock drop protection. With an 7-8 lb trigger pull, a buttend drop simply results in the bolt cycling leaving the hammer cocked. In fact, a round may be cycled and chambered (even on safe) following such a drop, so beware.
Any less trigger pull than this may result in the bolt not fullly cyclng and letting the hammer fall with the closing bolt. While this does not neccessarily result in a discharge, a sunsequent barrel end impact may cause a discharge since the hammer has fallen and is resting on the firing pin. The lighter the trigger, the less buttend fall it takes to release the hammer. I measured the safe distace to be approximately 3/8" of bolt travel is required to sufficently block the falling hammer from the firing pin.
Sorry to report that my attempts to develop a retrofit device to allow both barrel-end, butt-end drop protection and lighter trigger pull has proved to unsuccessful. I'm sure it could be done, but it is beyond my means to develop and manufacture. I'm sure such a product could be developed but may be too cost prohibitive to attract a significant market.
I believe the prudent and safe thing to do is not to attempt to lighten the trigger pull of the PS90 until this issue is resolved. FN knew exactly what they were doing when they set up the trigger pull to match a full bolt cycle in the event of a butt-end drop.
Promoted Pawn is still selling their product in case anyone still wants to go there, but I can't recommend it.
Thank you for supporting my products....
