    Fired military brass ordered destroyed!!!

Unreal, this is so stupid on so many levels...

    http://georgia-arms.com/

Due to new government regulations concerning the purchasing of surplus brass, we are removing sales of all 223 and all 308 until further notice. Below is a copy of the email we received from Government Liquidations.

"Effective immediately DOD Surplus, LLC, will be implementing new requirements for mutilation of fired shell casings. The new DRMS requirement calls for DOD Surplus personnel to witness the mutilation of the property and sign the Certificate of Destruction. Mutilation of the property can be done at the DRMO, if permitted by the Government, or it may be mutilated at a site chosen by the buyer. Mutilation means that the property will be destroyed to the extent prevents its reuse or reconstruction. DOD Surplus personnel will determine when property has been sufficiently mutilated to meet the requirements of the Government. "

    Uh, O.k., I'll bite.

If it is to be sold as scrap, why bother "mutilating" it? Oh yeah, that's right-to prevent anyone from diverting it and REUSING it. Look up the "R" in "DRMO".

Let me get this straight, I can DRMO computers (minus the hard-drive), desks, chairs, Humvees, parachutes, surgical tools, autoclaves, x-ray machines, but NOT spent brass, because it might be reused?

Wow, the logic just astounds me.

It's the government. No further explanation needed.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

What really sucks is that companies like Georgia Arms are going to be hurt by this idiocy, and many customers of reloading companies will have to purchase higher priced practice/training ammunition (numerous Law Enforcement agencies, etc) so the taxpayer ends up getting hit twice.

I second that. I began looking for some spend .223 cases after I read this and I can't find any.
