I ditched the factory optic on my FS2000 Standard and replaced it with an ACOG TA31RMR. I'm looking for a riser. While there are no shortage of choices, I'd appreciate any opinions. I've looked at everything from a Yankee Hill (less than $40) to a GG&G (about $160). Quick detach it nice as I remove my optics to accommodate a severely overcrowded safe, but not necessary. Any opinions are welcome.
The YHM unit will do the job. Why spend more...?

I think I found the snag with the cheaper mounts. I was about to put the YHM in my cart and re-read the reviews. They have to slide onto the rail. On my Colts or my Sig556 this wouldn't be a problem. On the FS2000, I'd have to remove the rail to do this. How difficult is this? Would I have to split the upper?
IIRC, take of stock, remove rear sight, slide away.![]()

You do need one that will go on from the top. Also you need one that can adjust for out of spec rails. The plastic rail is slightly narrower than the standard pic rail.
Also look here this guy did exactly what your looking for. http://fnforum.net/rail-space-on-the...rd-t31304.html![]()

Of course I am compensating for something.... If I could kill something at 300 meters with my c*ck I would not need a gun!
