It seems 30-06 AP is getting harder to find

Is there a shortage of this stuff. I can't think there is a lot of current production.

Check Gunbroker, it still shows up there.

What you are calling AP for the round is not made anymore as it was made for the Military and the 30-06 has long been retired.

Any 30-06 round as does most rifle rounds has the ability to be AP.

Thanks, I see it there. Expensive stuff. I want to get a few more rounds for my "reserve."

they sell True AP ammo and it usually is stripped AP/Black tip bullets loaded in new cases.

As JHS notes, most .30-06 has no issues penetrating through what some consider armor, aka soft armor, thin steel etc. He is correct that I haven't seen any current production M2 AP..
    jhs27275 thanked this.

I know what he is talking about

I also know if you're going to dig up a thread that's been dead almost two years and try to pick something apart you should at least read and understand the post you are picking at.

    But nice try.

Do you know what SAPI plates are? Your 30-06 wont do a damn thing to it unless your shooting actual AP. The difference between lead/steel core and true AP is dramatic when your actually shooting armor.

Yes I do, and once again you did not read my post or don't understand it or just looking to pick ignored it.
