    Unless you need the money, I say keep it. You can always do the other options down the road, but you can't go back from them.

    I kept it to swap in case I want to take it across state line.

    Definitely keep it. If the above reasons aren't good enough there was a time when barrels were in a drought for over a year. Plus they keep going up in price might as well have a spare

    ATF's own definition of SBR is a rifle with barrel length shorter than 16", not a rifle that's registered as SBR with ATF. As long as the physical configuration of the rifle doesn't qualify as SBR you should be fine. That's not to say it's a ironclad thing, just that you won't likely get hassled for possibly having an out of state NFA item.
