I'm hoping to select a suppressor that I can use on both a 17S and an AK (Arsenal 107CR). I already run an AAC for my 9MM pistol & subguns and have been happy with it. Any insight on both suppressor and mounts that would allow easy transfer would be appreciated. Matt
Hit Sarge up. He will know for sure and a good one.
Any 7.62 suppressor of your choice. The availability of mounts to fit the AK and SCAR will be your deciding factor. I do not know the thread pitch/size of your AK rifle and did not see a mount on the AAC site for an AK. Sarge will have more information.

Maybe get the barrel on your ak cut just past the threads and get it rethreaded for 5/8x24?
What ever you do, don't forget that 7.62x39 have a bullet diameter of .310-.311 vs .308 with 7.62x51 or 308Win. Some suppressor companies have very tight baffle bore tolerances, that with non concentric threads makes suppressing an AK a little more challenging. I understand that YHM 308 stainless steel suppressor has a larger baffle bore diameter and have heard of several who have tried to run their AAC 762 SD on a AK have baffle strikes.
I have a AAC 762 SD and don't feel safe running it on a AK from what I have been able to find out. A good friend of mine has the YHM 762 stainless suppressor and we have run it on his AK a few time with out a problem, even though the YHM stainless is HEAVY right now it would be the one I would use.
BTW.. You have a Arsenal 107CR correct...............
If so I think that model might be a little more difficult to suppress.
Does that AK have a long flash hider that mounts to the gasblock front sight and extend over the bare barrle?

Sarge, all - many thanks the great insight. Didn't know about the 7.62 diameter differences (figured 7.62x51 vs 7.62x39). Obviously not as "obvious" as I thought it wasThe CR does have an odd barrel configuration with this strange screw on flash hider (almost AKM like) but it was my thought to have barrel modified (cut and then a permanent flash hider / silencer adaptor) to replace it. Liked the Krink design on the 107CR, folding stock and the way it shoots but was hoping to kill both my "7.62" rifles with one suppressor. Maybe not.
There is a fair bit of info about suppressing a AK, barrel threading, and suppressor mounts here SilencerTalk • View forum - AK if you want to check it out.

Thank you - I'll definately do that. Reason I posted here is that frankly the 17S is the weapon I'm primarily concerned with - the AK is more of an added benefit. Any thoughts about proven 17S suppressors and muzzle brake/adapters that would be safe for AK (assuming I get the barrel issue on the 107 dealt with? Matt
