I shot my phantom for the first time today. I was getting a lot of gas leakage into the chamber and into my face while shooting. Is this normal suppressed? i switched my piston to suppressed shooting. I shoot left handed and it was enough to make my left eye water and hurt. This never was a problem without the suppressor.
The chamber was also VERY dirty compared to non suppressed firing. Is this normal?
Normal, sad to say. Number one reason I don't care for suppressors....

Mine gets dirty when suppressed. Casing get dirty, mags get dirty. But I don't have a problem with gas in my face, shooting right handed.
What ammo do you use?
As the others have said, it's normal on all points, it's the nature of the beast. The suppressor ends up trapping alot of the gas that normally would get vented into the air, this gas will end up trying to escape were ever it can including out of the ejection port when the bolt ejects the spent round. This is also why the chamber and spent brass get so dirty.
My suppressors are worse on some rifles than others, I'm right handed and I end up getting a face full of gas regularly especially if I'm shooting into the wind.
If you are shooting off of a bench you could try and hang a small rag over the top rail and let it drape over the ejection port, I'll do this to keep my brass from flinging across the range and I've notice it seems to help with the gas in my face some.
Also like Ferris is asking, some ammo seems to be worse(dirtier) than others.

I'm assuming you're shooting outdoors. Indoor ranges are really bad for suppressors, even with fans.
Oh, by the way fellas...
The F2K doesn't exhibit this trait, even during full-auto mag dumps.
SCAR... meh!... what have I done...?
