    .22/5.7 Suppressor Suggestions

Does anybody currently use their 22 rimfire suppressor to double as a ps90 suppressor. I know Silencerco's sparrow is rated for this task, but was wondering if anyone had any experience or knowledge on the subject.

    Thanks

As long as you clean it after every .22 range session, you'll be fine. The key is not allowing .22 rim-fire crap to build-up in the can.

    I do it in reverse.

I use my Gemtech SFN-57 on all my .22s and it can be used on the PS90 SBR and the AR57.

I have tried the sparrow on my PS90
And it works well, sounds about the same as my heavy .223 YHM can.
It's on my to buy list

I'm waiting for my AAC M4-2000 to get through the process but while I was waiting I did stumble across the Sparrow. I was a bit skeptical that the Sparrow could suppress the ps90 as well as a 5.56/.223 suppressor but you're saying it does? That's pretty amazing seeing that it's several inches shorter, much less weight and width and half the price. Now I'm really considering getting one. The product claims a 40dB reduction but I wasn't positive how that translates with the ps90. Anyone else have experience with the Sparrow on their ps90?

I need to test them back to back
If I had some SS ammo I could really tell the differents
I could try it on my AR57 and Ps90

I was able to dig up the following link:

Using some high-tech audio equip, they recorded the dB level of an unsuppressed P90 using SS197 rounds. It came in at ~158dB. Then they added the Silencerco SS Sparrow and shot the same round in at ~128dB. A 30dB drop is decent on a can that weighs nothing!

This has basically sold me. There are companies selling them for $399 in my area so I'll check it out. I figured I wanted a silencer for a 22 anyways so being able to cap off my PS90 SBR with such a small can is an added bonus. Then if I want increased suppression and don't mind a bulkier handle, I can throw on the M4-2000. Yay silencers!
