Source for SCAR magazines (the real ones)?

Not these US made AR15 mags the guns are shipping with - the military mags. FN has a part number on their website, but I have seen none for sale.

    Anybody?

Are you referring to the FNC mags?

The mag that came with my SCAR is the same crap mag that comes with the FS2000, but in FDE. i know the issue mag is supposed to be steel.

I'm not sure as to when it happened, but I've got the older (last year) FNC mags, and they aren't the same as what is being offered now. Mine are magnetic and heavier than the recent units. They closely resemble the HK mags to give you an idea.

The mags that my SCAR rifles came with are light, by weight and in line with the U.S.G.I. issue magazines. The followers aren't tan either.

"The photos are representative of the product and may not be identical to the product you receive." That's a loose quote from the FNH USA website.

    Lastly:
Even though it's listed on the FNH USA website, doesn't mean it's available. A call to Bob Ailes would surely clear things up. You can reach him @ 703-288-1292 ext.122

I figure the imported ones are the correct one and aren't being issued because there might be a 922r issue then.

I might call Bob, but to be honest i have an issue with him after I had to send in my FS2000 for a repair and FN screwed me over by removing some parts they promised they wouldn't. he assured me what DID happen - wouldn't (or i wouldn't have sent the gun in).

You're correct about the 922(r) issue. With a U.S. manufactured magazine, the gun is then complaint. That's why the gun has the pin is the magazine well when it's shipped from Belgium. When the required amont of U.S. made components are installed on the gun, the pin is removed from blocking the magazine from being installed in the gun.

I don't know the exact number, but I know the stock assembly is one, the muzzle break two, the charging handle three, the grip four, and the mag would make seven total.

The rest I'm in the dark on except for the upper and some small parts.
