was thinking about getting a pelican case for my scar. I have a few accesories and probably need a cust fitted one..did anyone do this yet? if so any good companies out there to get this from?
I have the 1720. Considering the custom cut foam.
I just ordered the 1700.. It should fit with a 1.5" to spare on each side.. How much bigger is the 1720?
Don't forget when you cut the foam you can put the scar in slightly diagonal and it looks great. Can give you better protection from a smaller case that way.
I have one 1700 and the SCAR with stock collapsed barely fits, with less than one inch to spare on either end with the factory muzzle brake installed.
No clue on the 1720, but the 1750 is big enough to accomodate the FNAR along with a few other essentials. One word describes the 1750: Huge.

Here is a great option to cutting foam. Just popped out the IM3100 foam and replaced it with the IM3100 Mobile Field Pack (designed to fit into the IM3100 hard case). The straps are fully adjustable as to location, etc. I have the tan IM3100 case with tan IM3100 Mobile Field Pack. It was a little pricey, but it gives me a lot of options. It has a padded accessory pack as well that you don't see in the pic.

Nice job Lutzy. Cutting case foam is harder than it looks.....
One thing I have done with my rifle cases is.... I cut the foam pattern with the magazine out of the weapon. Something just told me to store the weapon without a magazine in the well. As a matter of fact I don't cut areas for extra magazines either.
I probably should cut an area for magazines.
Anyhow, nice job.
