Tenebraex Amber Flip Up Covers for ELCAN SpecterDr Impressionsh

    Hello,
Thought I would post a mini review of my Amber covers. Amber seems to improve contrast so shots through the sight with closed flips is a lot sharper and easier. Cons They scratch easily, I scratched mine with my fingernail but the scratches are not visible though the amber hue. From another user on another board "
Lenses in these hues block haze and blue light and enhances the color of the target. The brighter yellow the lens color is, the better it is for use during low-light conditions."

This ELCAN also has the latest ARD that allows for a slimmer profile flip sight foortprint without the need to tighten any screws (older version)

Very nice. Didn't know they had the covers in amber. I've got the solid opaque black covers on my Elcans and they work very well.

I believe so, there is an adaptor you can buy if you have the OLD ARD version but I am not absolutely sure. Contact Ken at Kerif Night vision, he is a distributor/dealer and can advise.

The new Flip Cover sets are designed to work without the adapter rings. If you have the new profiled edge on your ARD that is all you need for the objective end. If your ARD(KillFlash) has a smooth edge, then you'll need to use the adapter ring. The new flip covers for the eyepiece end are deigned to work without the adapter rings as well. There are solid black, see-through clear, and see-through amber. According to Ken at KERIF, these are not available in FDE yet. Ken sent this " The NEW Flip Cover Kits no longer use the Adapter Rings. The Ocular Cover has a “V” shaped groove that needs to line up with the "V" spot on the ocular to go on, and once on…are meant to stay on as pulling them on and off repeatedly could wear out the lip on the inside of the cover, especially if not lined up correctly when installed. They line up so the cover flips out directly to the (right) side of the optic."
