Yes there will be a trigger.

I wrote to Timney a few days ago to ask if they were going to make a drop in trigger upgrade. Below is their reply...

    Hello Les,
We met with the guys from FN in November of 2009, we are planning to develop
a trigger for the SCAR, measurements have been made and design is scheduled
to begin this summer. Stay tuned for updates.

    Best regards,

    Cool

I wonder how it'll compare to the trigger on the SSR

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, as I'm certain it will be at least 2011 before either is available for public consumption,

I have heard the same from Geissele. I can't wait til they all finally get off their butts and put out some good triggers.

For those that know both...which would you prefer? Geissele or Timney?
May God grant us the wisdom to discover the right, the will to choose it, and the strength to make it endure.

In for a Geissele SSA for the SCAR if it happens.

    Voluntered my rifle to Timney

I live in the Phoenix area, and based on the first post, I emailed Timney and volunteered to let them use my SCAR if they need to do test fitting/measuring/modeling/etc.

Will it actually help? Who knows, but it can't hurt either.

I'll be interested in seeing Timneys reply, if any.

I received a second e-mail from Timney. At the bottom of the front page of their website is a link for placing a request to Timney for a trigger design. Timney decides which trigger to design next based on how many requests they get. If you, like I, would like them to build one for the SCAR please fill out their little request page. The more requests they get the sooner we will get a new trigger option.

    Timneys reply, sounds very promising

    Got a reply already from "t-bone" at Timney on my offer to lend them a SCAR to assist in trigger design;

    Hello Charles,

We appreciate your offer, the guys at FN dropped one by not too long ago and we intend to begin working on a drop in trigger upgrade in the next few months.

We had one more trigger in front of it but looks like it is next on the list. If you would like to expedite the process I recommend you visit our webpage and use the "what trigger should we build next" link.

    The more votes the better.

They are both fine companies and I have used both in AR platforms. It's nice to see Timney is so responsive. I am off to fill out a request!
