I wouldn't mind paying so much for a damned trigger if they were still cut from billet instead of cast like they are now. The regular price should have dropped to $250 as soon as they became a mass production item like the AR triggers.

I have seen some for $280 with free shipping... is that as good as it will get? Or do they get cheaper than that, on sale?

Google searched and at the moment cheapest I found was @ Richies Outdoors for $280.80 + $13.08 shipping. Anyone find anywhere cheaper right now? I guess I'll wait for a Memorial weekend sale.

ShootingSight SCAR triggers are cut from billet (actually, rolled plate is the correct term; there is such a thing as cast billet). But yes, you hit the nail on the head. Cast steel is inferior to rolled steel. You get variability in grain size, you get possibility of inclusions, stringers, micro shrinkage, etc, etc that make cast steel less impact resistant, and have a lower tensile strength. This is why ShootingSight only uses Rolled Plate Steel for triggers. It costs more, but if you are after top performance, that's what you need.

These are $250 with free shipping, and they are adjustable for 2nd stage sear engagement, and they have improved hammer geometry that shaves 3ms off the stock hammer swing.
