I agree 100%. My first (actually second FDE)... the rail's finish was broken from the accelerometer mounting. Four SCAR's later I'm patiently waiting on four factory select-fire units. Aside from this speed bump, you'll be pleased with knowing you've acquired one of the finest weapon platforms available today.

I have a DR 1.5x6 on my 17 and it is pretty loose too. Almost no pressure required to close the levers and I can slide it for and aft about 1/16" when mounted. It good to know ARMS is able to put adjustable levers on it. I'm going to have to check into that.

    2) Call the dealer that did the transfer in MI. and explain that he'll be booking in the weapon from you and sending it to Arnold on your behalf.

    3) The weapon is repaired/replaced and shipped back to your local FFL.

    4) You're tired of the hoops you had to jump through but you're happy the issue was resolved.

One question: Do you have a set of high quality dial calipers?
Thats exactly what I'm doing. The LE distributor I dealt with is going to send me a prepaid shipping label. And he is going to take care of it from there. I have to contact my local FFL dealer about running through the books again.

Yes they are......So far I have nothing bad to say about them. Very pleasant to deal with and they know their stuff.

This issue I am having with the rails. It almost makes you wonder if the 16s is the exact same rifle as the military counterpart, the MK16, without the select-fire option. It's almost as if the 16s is a rejected MK16 that did not pass inspection. Which would make sense about some people have Mil-Spec issues and others not having any issues. Just a thought, not trying to start a conspiracy-theory or anything.

Even the best have a misstep once in a while. Any time there's a human involved, anything is possible.

The .mil weapons and the commercial counterparts are identical in design but there are certain features which prohibit certain select-fire components from being readily installed on the commercial weapons.

FYI.....While I was working tonight I put my SpecterDr on my partners CMMG top rail and it fit absolutely perfectly. When I locked the arms down there was just enough tension and the sight was rock solid. It's definatly not the mount.

I figured it was one or the other and that's why I suggested mounting the unit on another rail.
(Path of least resistance, for me)

I called A.R.M.S. this morning to ask about installing their new adjustable Mk II throw levers on my ELCANDR 1.5x6. They said sure can, lots of people are having it done. $15 to replace both levers and the nice Lady said they would pay return shipping. That seems like a darn good deal to me. I sent a pre-paid shipping label along anyways because I wanted it insured.
