Hi,
I have found that both Magpul and Troy manufacture ambidextrous bolt releases for AR-15 type carbines:
Magpul:
THEORY BASED PRODUCTS - B.A.D. LeverŪ - Battery Assist Device – AR15/M16
Troy:
Troy Industries, Inc - For All Your Quality Accessory Product Needs
Does anyone have any experience with installing and using either of these on their SCAR? Does one fit or work better than the other?
I have my reciprocating handle on the right side of my rifle so something like this would be useful...
Thanks for any help or advice!
I can confirm the Magpul BAD lever won't fit and I assume the TROY won't either but I've never tested it.
R & A Battery Assist Device for SCAR H and L
This particular auction is done, but they are out there. You can either get a B.A.D. made for the SCAR on gunbroker: FN SCAR 16/17 Battery Assist Device : Other Gun Accessories & Parts at GunBroker.com
Or you can modify one. Wagnasty has also modified a Magpul B.A.D. using some heat.
Personally, I don't see why FN just didn't stick one on the other side of the SCAR. It even makes more sense on the SCAR because it doesn't have a dust cover to interfere with its placement like it does on the ambi AR15s.
