Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good laser boresight for the SCAR 16 (with an Aimpoint PRO sight)?
I never used a laser boresight before...are they all the same? What qualities should I look for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!
The kind that slip into the barrel from the end dont usually work because of the muzzle break. If you get one thats like a .223 / 5.56 bullet it will work. If you look at the price of lasers, you would spend less just starting out at 25' with your first target. I like just going and shooting, gives me more to do. But whatever you decide to do is fine just, GO SHOOT IT. Good luck man![]()

Of course I am compensating for something.... If I could kill something at 300 meters with my c*ck I would not need a gun!
A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.
I bought the cheap ones that go in the end of barrel after removing the flash hider but, the laser wasn't centered in the actual device so it was absolutely no help I guess I should not purchased this since it was made in china. I've thought about the bullet style ones but never got around to it.
You don't need a boresighter for the SCAR. Pop the lower off, take out the bolt carrier and set the upper on a sandbag. Put a target at 25 yards, and look through the barrel until you can see the bullseye. Hold the upper in place securely and adjust your scope until both the crosshairs and the view through the barrel are centered on the bull. Your scope adjustments will be opposite of where you want the crosshairs on the scope to go relative to the center of the barrel. That should be enough to get you on paper. Then reassemble, and do your fine adjustments by live firing.
+1 on what Fudd said, have tried the laser bore sighters and I found they just don't compare to the sand bag method (or you can use a gun cradle).

The last one I bought turned into a toy for my dog real quick. I just sight it in at 25yds, then move it out to the disired yardageDon't wast your money. My eotech was on paper from shot 1, so it should be too hard.

You see in this world there's two kinds of people my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig?
I found that my 553 co-witnesses with my irons very nicely. As long as they're dialed-in (which they pretty well are now), I can just put the dot on top of the front sight post and it'll at least get me on the paper. Of course, different optics in different situations may well vary... But it's a quick & dirty way for me to get back if I need to re-zero.
