Here's another option for you to consider - very interesting setup -- I saw it on another forum [I would link to the entire thread but I did not think that was appropriate, if it is even allowed] and it has me thinking about it a lot -- Aimpoint H-1 on Larue LT-724 offset mount along with an ACOG, best of both worlds -- magnification when you need it, MRDS when you don't:

I have almost gone that way in the past, the weight of the pair was the only thing holding me back.
I have run a Docter in an offset on a USO SN3, but it was mounted on the scope and ended up being a bit on the high side for my tastes.
Aimpoint T-1/H-1 gets my vote every time ... light, tough and fast acquisition are the 3 things I want on my 5.56 weapons. If I were to run a Trijicon, I like the TA11 series best ... longer eye relief works better for me than the 4X ACOG's. Unfortunately, the TA11's are heavier optics, leading me back to the Aimpoints? The T-1/H-1's are now available with the 2MOA dot, which I like even better than the 4MOA ... bonus!![]()
