    SCAR brothers beware

First i want to say that I've learned a great deal from you guys. your knowledege, but more importantly your willingness to share your knowledge with others is much needed and appreciated my me. Since buying my scar16 i've done what everyone eles does. you have some basic accessories to buy. first was a 1000 rounds of ammo followed by an aimpoint compm4 optic, along with a larue mount. then i bought a urban ert sling...at this point i'm beyond broke. then i read on the forum of the sling attachment issues with the scar's...so what to do right. I ordered a blue for wire loop for the rear and a viking LUSA for the front. I found a LUSA on ebay for less that what Viking wanted. I emailed the seller on ebay, he said he purchased several deployment kits from a military source and that made me feel that he was legit. I received the LUSA and tried to insert my QD swivel....wouldn't fit. This low down @#*hole is selling bogus LUSA's. SO...beware there are theives amungst us. By the way...my decision to buy the SCAR over LWRC was due to you guys...thanks for the honest opinions and steering me right.

I'm sorry you got screwed by fleabay, and thanks for the heads-up. I'm running my sling with a wire loop in front, and through the hole in the stock on the back.

i got screwed for sure just to save a few bucks. i notified VIKING TACTICS and gave them the ID of the ebay seller so hopefully they'll stop them from selling to anyone else. then i ordered a LUSA from them. so i basically paid double...i'm such a dumbass.

Dang, stew, that is messed up. No wonder you were having issues with the QD sling swivels.

You ought to report the seller to EBay and to Viking Tactics...so no one else gets scammed.

i think running a LUSA up front and a blueforce wire loop rear along with a URBAN ERT will be a awesome rig.

Can someone give me a quick brief on the stock sling mount issue? I didn't find anything after a cursory search of the forum. I am new to the SCAR after a long love affair with the FS2K and PS90.

I always run a QD socket on the rail up front on pretty much all of my long guns, but I was planning to use a blueforce hook on one of the two attachment points on the weapon from the factory. I run all of my slings with QD in the front, hook in the back like this so that I can get away with owning less slings than rifles

Should I be thinking of a different option for the rear?

The stock sling loops on the SCAR have been known to cause the HK style snaps to unhook. while the Mash style clips that do not spontaneously unhook wear on the Aluminum SCAR loops. Everyone has different opinions about this and some just ignore the wear as it tends to level out once the Mash hooks wear the loop edges round, For my set up I just chamfered the Mash Hook edges. They still wear a little, but in my case I am not that concerned about the black edges being worn down, Some feel that they do not want their $2000+ rifle marred by anything. Another approach is to use wire or para-chord loops through the SCAR sling loops to avoid the issue altogether.

Please post pics of your rig once it's finished. If you paid using PayPal (through bank acct) its guaranteed. Just mention that it was false advertising and/or the description was not the product described. A case will be opened which may take a few weeks. I've gone through this and won.

That is the downside to buying eBay. Take the extra day to research the items before you buy and save all communications for this exact reason. Good luck to you.
