    mount for VR-X Patrol

so, i recently acquired a leupold VR-X Patrol optic 1.25-4x... sweet little optic, so far i love it... only the scope rings that my LGS had, the highest rise they had in stock, dont allow for me to get the optic over the rear BUIS.... i've also noticed that with my cheek weld, i cant raise the comb on the stock and still see through the optic, and even with is dropped i feel like my head is too high up... so... i am looking for a taller mounting base, been looking at the ADM SSR mount that Sarge carries and the GG&G Accucam SPR mount... just wondering form people that have them if they are able to get the rear lens of the optic over the rear sight, as well as how sturdy the DQ levers/mounting system is...

i plan on using my SCAR as a predator hunting rifle, bug Coyote problem in my area of NH... so the rifle will get plenty of non range use, so durability of the mount is key....

also, one thing i noticed with the optic... the on/off/brightness button on the side has a tendency to stick with the battery cap tightened down over the sealing oring... wondering if anyne else has this issue... maybe its still waterproof/resistant like this, but it kinda worries me that its not... dont want to burn out the lamp in my optic... i was thinking of putting a littke 2 sided tape on the back of the rubber button to keep the battery stuck to it and see if that worked...

    Question:

I'be noticed some guys "nose down" behind the weapons. If you're inadvertently doing this, it can give the perception that the cheek piece isn't high enough.

The SSR DELTA allows minimal clearance with the rear sight in place. Check out some of the pix in the photo section for a visual reference...

Here's a pic of the SSR / Leupold combination. The ocular bell is the same size on both scopes.

The YHM QDS rear sight is .435" tall in the stowed position, and the OEM is (IIRC) .550" at the center when stowed, you'll clear the bell.

even though the SCAR doesnt have the rear charging handle like the m4/m16... i still put my nose in the same spot, like i was taught to do in the army... i know its not my head position, just tried it out....

that ADM mount is looking more and more appealing... Sarge, do you happen to have any in stock in either color?

new here check pics of my rifle here

I'm running the leupy hog scope (same thing as yours, more/less) and the burris pepr works for me
I realize its not as tacticool as a larue or etc, but the only time my scope will come off is if it breaks (unlikely), so repeated zero to me isnt an issue. I have optics for a reason; I dont want to shoot irons.

i saw your pics earlier, nice looking set up...

i was trained to shoot irons... and while i prefer an optic, if something happens to the glass, i want to be able to quickly remove the optic without tools... thats why i tend to go with QD mounts when i can afford them...

but, that is a sweet looking set up

GG&G Accucam SPR mount measurements are, height from the centerline of the 30mm integral rings to the top of the dovetail mounting platform is 1.460 inches. The center to center dimension of the rings is 3.750 inches.

I have the GG&G Accucam SPR mount coming in middle to end of next week, I can let you know when it come in if you want.

    The ADM SSR measurements.
