First prototype of ShootingSight PS90 trigger

After a year of ticking over in my head how to improve the PS90, and I did have a few ideas, I kept stumbling into how to get parts that fit into the FN housing, plus, by using their geometry I'm stuck with design choices they made. So I finally decided just to start from scratch and make an entire trigger pack, like I did for the Tavor.

First prototype is done. I still need to design springs, include the engagement surfaces for the rods, make it pretty, troubleshoot it .... but here is the first prototype. It feels great, I think this is going to be a fantastic trigger when it is done, as the 'push' design of the rods really allows me to take advantage of the physics of sear design.

No price yet. Timing depends on what I run into along the testing path, but my goal is to have a functioning model at the NRA show in a few weeks.

Cool!!! Keep in mind - improve trigger feel, reset, and trigger pull. I'm sure you with 2/3 of these you win easily. Keep us posted.

Cool ps90 add ons are why it's one of the most expensive guns I own. This will be no exception if it turns out as well as I expect it to. Keep us posted I'm anxious to see what you come up with

Perfect. Since factory packs are impossible to get from FN these will be a great alternative and better pull for sure. Let us know when they go on sale

    Vertigosol,

Thanks for the perspective. I was coming at this purely from the perspective of improving what was there. I had not thought about the issue of tight availability from the factory, so that makes this project even more interesting.

I know on my PS90 pack, when I first took it apart, I didn't realize they had blind pins to prevent you from doing that, and broke the disconnector getting it apart. I ordered a new FN trigger pack in June, two years ago. Gave them my credit card and all. Now 20 months on, I have nothing. Luckily, I found an AUG disconnector that I was able to modify to work, so I have a functioning trigger pack, but that was pure luck.

Yeah fn parts availability and sometimes customer service sucks. They get by because their products are so good

Aww man. If this happens, I might have to get a PS90.

Interesting design. If you're looking for any T/E/R (testing, evaluation, review) down the road, I'm more than willing to donate time. Especially for 5.7 products
