I'm going to try my hand at a low intensity pistol competition soon and was wondering if anyone had any good prep drills, packing list, or other bits of advice I could use. From what I understand it is holster draw, stationary paper or steel targets, one reload required, and there is a strict time limit. I'll be using my new FNX-9. I've worked it in decently, and I've been practicing my draw, acquiring sight picture, and reload drills. I usually bring, in my range bag, a cleaning towel, oil, ear/eye pro, barrel brush, tooth brush, and extra ear pro incase a range buddy loses theirs. Are there other drills people have had success with? What items is my range bag missing? I'd love some ammo recommendations too but I don't speak enough of the jargon to get the minute differences many of you may be all to familar with, please keep those suggestions dumbed down for me!I'll likely be using the regular walmart Winchester White box; I've run it through he FNX before with good results, and its in my limited price range.
I really appreciate all the advice and help. I'll post my performance(don't expect much) after the competition!

-What do you do when something like that happens to you?
-Grab a straw and suck it up.
Here are some items I would recommend bringing that I always carry:
Extra magazines
Magazine speed loaders (MagLULA is excellent)
Bottled water or sports drinks
Sun screen, chapstick, gum, baseball cap
Notebook/notepad with pen/pencil
Sweatband/bandanna, towels, shop rags
Change of clothing, raincoat, and extra pair of shoes/boots (mud sucks)
Camera (for your trophy shot)![]()
