Good Old Woodland BDU
DCU (3 color desert)
Canadian CADPAT (the original digital pattern)
Marine Desert or Woodland Digital pattern with imbedded globe and anchor graphic
Army ACU (digital pattern with urban gray included)
New Airforce tiger stripe pattern
Poll question, which camo is best?
I voted for the Marine digital pattern which includes both a desert and woodland color respectively, even though I'm former Army. Even though the Marines got the idea from the Canadians, I think they got it right with their patterns. The Army grey ACU is hokey in my opinion. I loved the three color DCU but the marine digital desert pattern is superior.
I guess the poll should have been split into 2 different questions, which pattern is most effective vs which pattern you personally find most appealing. Answer how you wish.
i like the marine digital because it seems like it conceals better than regular woodland camo, and in my area we have mostly woods and fields
i guess it depends on your area for the color of camo, but i would say the digital works better over traditional camo.
Si vis pacem, para bellum. If you want peace, prepare for war.
One thing I find interesting is they got rid of black when they dumped the woodland camo pattern. They also got rid of it when they switched from the old "chocolate chip" 6 color desert uniform to the newer 3 color DCU's and again when the Army went to the ACU. Black stands out like a sore thumb against natural backgrounds in night vision goggles.
The Marines kept the black in their woodland digital pattern. It probably isn't as much of an issue in shaded forest areas compared to flat desert environments.
Out of these the Marie pattern's would probably be the best.
I prefer Crye Precision Multicam though.
They have example of it at http://www.multicampattern.com/.
And it looks great with the SCAR!
That's really cool, I like the demo photos on the multicam website.
Interesting that it was developed in conjunction with the Natick Soldier Research Center. Too bad they didn't choose it over the ACU.
Marine digi camo is best.
As a side note: I have to laugh at the Air Force switching to that Tiger stripe camo. Hahahah. The only warriors the Airforce have are called Aviators. The Air force is a bunch of noe-zoomed-dweebies. What is the tiger stripe camo for? It doesn't blend into the the surroundings at the Sheiton Inn.

I really like the british DPM, it works great for Colorado. But I am also a big fan of the Russian KLKM. That stuff is amazing and is really effective against night vision googles/scopes. I am working on an article on the KLKM camo. But it is really awsome. At a distance it really gives the illusion of depth and is especially effective at night. It is reversable for day/night.
I will try and post some pics when I am done with my evaluation.
By the way KLKM is a digital camo that came out in the late 60's and is still in use today. That means the Russian's came out with a digital pattern almost 40 years before we did.
Actually, the best camo is the one you don't see. HeHeHe.
