    New 17s owner in Oklahoma

    Hello fellow owners,

Well i picked up a new rifle today. Was looking for a good .308 Battle rifle to replace my FAL that my brother bought from me. So i replaced it with a 17S....Just picked it up today and gonna zero it tomorrow. Got some plans for it but im gonna take it a lil slow. Here she is with some of her roomates...

Hoping to soak up a LOT of knowledge here.

Welcome to the poor house, lol

Your formerly affordable shooting habit just turned into a champagne and caviar affair and the first time you put some decent ammo though it and are rewarded with boltgun like accuracy you will find yourself buying 7.62 match ammo at $1.00 per round with appalling regularity.

I try to buy cheap surplus ammo for practice, I really do but I just can't bring myself to let those groups open up after experiencing what a SCAR-17 can do with quality ammo.

    Congrats and Condolences...

Na... this wont put me in the poor house i have a 95 RX7 thats already holding that spot....

Took the 17 out today to the on post range (Mistake 1) in the Oklahoma wind. Got there and they had no targets. As luck would have it i had one in my bag. Started shooting some 149 bt but could get good groupsat 100 yards. Switched over to the load made for my 700... whole new game, Tighter groups and gun likes the rounds waayyyy better.

Know it looks peppered but i was fighting a 18 MPH wind but i got it done. load was a 168 gr Hornaday Amax. Think im gonna use it for the 17 too.
