Hi, Have been reading for about 6 months but just joined. You have no idea how lucky you folks who are not from CT or MA have it. I purchased a FS2000 a while ago and only had to have the buzzle break (flash hiders are illegal) pinned. I just ordered a SCAR17S and had to have both the Stock and Muzzle Break pinned. The gun had to be shipped to an out of state "Manufacturer" for modifications so it could come into CT in legal form. This reduces availability, pushes up cost and increases wait time. One place in CT is charging $3,800.00 for a modified 17. I found a place that sells them for $3,295. A lot more $$ than I see at Gunbroker, etc. I should get the 17 in about a week. I am having a ball with the FS2000 but have it a bit over accessorized. Next mod is wheels.

2 weeks have past and I am still waiting for my SCAR 17. "The modification will be complete when the modification is complete." I am to accustomed to instant gratification and this waiting is killing me. Fortunately, I'm passing my time with purchase of ammo, sling, etc. Will add a good scope and hope to add a surpressor. Those shown on the surefire site seem excellent. Does anyone have one of these on a SCAR 17? Did it effect accuracy. Was the effect on noise and flash acceptable?

    Thanks for any info.

One subscriber here on this forum has one on his (could be a her) SCAR 17 and he said it was a huge improvement as far as the compression and flash.
Phantom 5C2 with 5/8"-24 thread. Made by Yankee Hill thru Midway. $43. part #814263
I might invest in one. My sight research has brought me to the Eotech MPO EXPS3 Holosight backing that up with the G23 3x magnifier $998.
Happy hunting Be sue to post some pics.

    Thanks for all the Welcome's!!

Thanks for the info on the MIDWAY item. This item is a muzzle break and I am interested in a sound suppressor, which would also minimize or eliminate flash.

I have that same sight set up on my PS2000 tactical and I like it a lot.

I also removed the FN factory sights and added Troy BUIS. I have to flip the 3X to the side to raise the rear BUIS as there is not a lot of rail but it all fits and works very well. Also added the FN railed fore end, a SIG STOP LITE (that is one bright light!!) which contains a vertical grip and a red laser. A green laser has been added to the side rail with a pressure switch. A NEU-TRIGGER (Neu-Trigger.com) really helped with the infamously rough trigger pull. This was a really easy and fast fix that did not cost much ($27). A two point padded sling from Troy helps hold all of this up.

All I need now is a set of wheels.

Welcome! There are a bunch of us here who are in your same boat (I'm in Kahli'Stan). Yeah, its more expensive, but at least we can STILL get some cool guns, even IF they've been "Kahli'fornicated".
