Hi from SC!

Hi everyone! I am a gun enthusiast like many and recently got interested in buying a SCAR 16S. I heard there is a store in Ayden, NC whom has some in house. I was about to spend a couple grand on a custom AR when I had the epiphany I was spending all this money on a gun that realistically can only shoot match grade type ammo. I wanted something dependable, able to take bulk Lake City Ammo without issues, lightish weight, and fun and accurate. I was sold on the ACR concept from Magpul but it seems Bushmaster has screwed that up. The 16S seems to have been proven a likely suitor. Any suggestions or info would greatly be appreciated.

ryan, i was in the same situation as you a month ago. i wanted a great AR out of the box. was ready to pull the trigger on a LWRC which is a great AR. Then i started researching the FNH SCAR16S. it's everything that i was looking for and then some. Dependable, reliable, quality features, quality components and most of all...new platform. in my opinion it's the future platform. im not sure where you are in SC...i'm in charlotte NC and drove to Columbia to buy some ammo at PALMETTO STATE ARMORY (they are a sponsor of this forum by the way) and they have a SCAR16 on the wall. you should get over there and check it out. i think you'll love it.

Thanks for the info guys. Stew funny how we ultimately get here. If I was exclusively shooting three gun then my AR purchase would have been great. However, I wanted the versatility and reliability of a tested battle rifle. I am currently working in Greenville, NC and have been in touch with many local shops but no one seems to have a SCAR heavy in FDE. I am on a couple waiting lists. If anyone knows a shop in NC or SC with one in stock, please let me know.
