So we haven't been posting these for a while now because most legislatures have been closed due to the lock down. That's not to say new bills aren't being introduced. Here's some that have come in over the past month that will need your attention once your legislature gets back (and the US house decides to get off their collective butts and gets back to work)

    CA

AB2847 would revise the 'approval process' for 'unsafe' handguns by requiring microstamping of handguns. The bill would also remove several handguns from the approved list

    DC

B23-0729 would create extreme risk protection orders

B23-0730 would make people guilty of certain civil violations prohibited

B23-0746 is a ghost gun bill

PR23-0803 is a resolution asking congress to quickly approve B23-0746 (ghost gun ban)

    DE

HB322 would makes the sentences for the use of a firearm in a crime non-suspendable and they may not run concurrently

    LA

HB746 would waive the requirement to have a concealed carry permit while evacuating during an emergency

HB781 would make businesses that manufacture or sell ammunition essential businesses that can not be shut down during a state of emergency

HB865 would make businesses that manufacture or sell ammunition essential businesses that can not be shut down during a state of emergency

    MA

S2649 is a 'ghost gun' bill

    MI

HB5706 would prohibit the governor from banning the sale of firearms and ammunition during a state of emergency

HB5707 would prohibit the governor from banning the sale of firearms and ammunition during a state of emergency

SB0859 would prohibit the governor from banning the sale of firearms and ammunition during a state of emergency

SB0860 would prohibit the governor from banning the sale of firearms and ammunition during a state of emergency

SR0118 is a resolution asking the capitol commission to ban firearm from inside the capitol and on capitol grounds

    NJ

A4053 is a strange but interesting bill that would allow NJ residents that have carry permits from other states to apply to the state to have their permit recognized

A4054 would county sheriffs to issue firearms identification cards and permits to purchase handguns; authorizes county sheriffs to accept applications for permits to carry handguns.

A4062 would clarify that licensed dealers may provide firearms for display at fund raising events sponsored by certain tax exempt organizations.

    NY

S08297 would prohibit advertising firearms as 'combat weapons'

    SD

HB1296 prohibits the governor from regulating firearms, firearm businesses and other firearm related activities during a state of emergency

    VA

HB373 would repeal current law that prohibits carrying firearms in house of worship

HB596 would repeal current law that prohibits carrying firearms in house of worship

    https://amgoa.org/Proposed-State-Gun-Legislation

    US Congress

HB6318 would create all sorts of new gun laws, including more limits on the sale of 2 or more firearms, require the CDC to produce yearly reports on gun violence, new prohibitions on certain persons not to be allowed to buy firearms and more

HB6453 is a nonsensical bill directing the FBI to compile a list of all background checks that happened after Jan. 31 2020, including how many were not completed within 3 days and went to 'default proceed', basically so they can then start screaming about requiring longer wait periods before the default proceed happens

SB3493 would allow services members and their spouses to be treated as residents when buying firearms while deployed to another state
