NFA Question - Moving to new house.

What happens when you have a suppressor or SBR and you have all your paperwork filed under your address and then a few years down the line you decide to move to a new house elsewhere (same state, different city/county). Do you have to fill out any forms to update your paperwork with the ATF or make any changes with your trust? How do you go about doing that?

Planning ahead of time on filing for my first SBR and first suppressor but I already know that within the next few years I intend to move.

GONRA suggests contacting the BATF (ya, its scarey!) and they will tell you what to do.
"Same State" makes it a no brainer as long as some local laws don't get involved.
One way or another, make SURE you tell 'em!
    (Great idea to "plan ahead"!)

From what I gather, there is no need to notify the ATF if you are moving in-state, only out of state.

There is no requirement to notify for intra state transportation however any move (change of address for where you live) does require notification regardless if it’s intra state or inter state.

Fill out this form, 5320.20. At least a month before you move.

Thanks guys - glad to know it's not particularly complicated.

It's always good to make sure of what you're getting into before you've gotten into it when you have the chance.

ATF recommends that you tell them of address changes within the state but it is not required.

It's more a a control and tracking issue. I just saw what the actual law is an let people decide what to do. You can update the ATF if you want to it's not an issue. Just saying you don't have to. But you are right most of them don't know what they are talking about.
